Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 June 2026. This policy explains what personal data ROYLINA ("we", "us") collects, why, and what rights you have over it.
1. Who we are
ROYLINA (roylina.com) is a UK beauty community platform. For data protection purposes we are the data controller for the personal data described below. Contact: hello@roylina.com.
2. What we collect
- Account data — name, username, email address, password (stored hashed), and any profile details you choose to add (photo, bio, city, specialties).
- Content you create — posts, comments, photos, critique requests, products, messages and price submissions. Price submissions are published only as anonymous aggregated statistics — your name is never shown next to a price.
- Verification documents — if you apply for Verified UK Pro status, your qualification and insurance certificates. These are stored on private storage, are never publicly accessible, and are viewed only by our review team.
- Payment data — payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal. We never see or store your card number; we keep only the order record (what was bought, when, for how much).
- Technical data — IP address, browser type and pages visited, used for security (rate limiting, spam prevention) and to keep the site working.
3. Why we use it (legal bases)
- To provide the service (contract) — accounts, content, messaging, purchases, the Price Index.
- To keep the platform safe (legitimate interest) — spam prevention, fraud prevention, moderation.
- To send you emails you've chosen (consent) — the weekly digest and notification emails, all of which you can switch off in Settings or via the one-click unsubscribe link in every email.
- To meet legal obligations — tax and accounting records for purchases.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with processors needed to run the service: payment providers (Stripe, PayPal), email delivery, and hosting. Each is bound by data-processing agreements.
5. How long we keep it
Account data: while your account exists. Verification documents: while your verification is active, plus 12 months. Order records: 6 years (UK tax law). You can delete your account at any time from Settings — this removes your profile and personal data; anonymised aggregate statistics (e.g. a price that's already part of a city average) may be retained.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data; object to or restrict processing; and take your data elsewhere (portability). Email hello@roylina.com and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
7. Cookies
See our separate Cookie Policy for the full list.
