Just finished my Level 3 nails course and I'm at that awkward stage where my portfolio is basically all practice hands and my own left hand lol. I know the standard advice is "do friends and family for free/cheap" but I've honestly exhausted them, there's only so many times you can redo your mum's nails.

Thinking about posting model calls on local facebook groups but a bit nervous about strangers coming to my house while I'm still slow (a full set still takes me close to 3 hours...).

For those who've been through this stage recently: how did you find your first non-friend clients, what did you charge while training speed, and at what point did you feel ok charging proper prices? Also do clients actually mind the 3 hour thing if they know upfront you're building your portfolio?
