Booked a "classic facial" expecting extractions, got a relaxing massage instead — is this on me for not asking?
Genuinely not trying to be that customer but need a sanity check.
Booked what the menu called a "Classic Facial" at a new-to-me salon because my skin's been congested and a bit spotty around my chin. Went in expecting the usual deep clean type thing, blackheads dealt with, the works.
Got a lovely 40 minutes of cleanse, mask, and a really nice facial massage. Genuinely relaxing, therapist was sweet, skin felt soft after. But zero extractions, no real attempt at the congestion I mentioned when she asked "any concerns?" at the start.
Only afterwards did I see they also offer a "Deep Cleansing Facial" for £15 more which apparently is the one with extractions and steam. I didn't know these were meaningfully different treatments, I genuinely thought "classic" just meant "the normal one" as opposed to some fancy branded version.
So: is this a me problem for not researching facial menu terminology before booking, or should the therapist have redirected me to the right treatment when I mentioned congestion at consultation? Do salons expect clients to already know the difference between these names or is this a common mix up?
Not asking for a refund or anything dramatic, just want to know if I'm being unreasonable feeling a bit let down.
